Ronda Ann D’Amore, a cherished matriarch and beloved figure to many, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2025, at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital. She was born on March 12, 1930, in Syracuse, NY, and she graced this world with her presence for 95 years.
A devoted wife, Ronda shared her life with her husband of 67 years, Carmen D’amore, and together they built a family, a farm, and a business rooted in love and togetherness. Her wisdom and spirit were evident in her relationships with her five children – John (Sharon) D’Amore, Jim (Karen) D’Amore, Judy (Ronnie) Erice, Joe D’amore, and Jan (Steve) Kenney – who were all raised with love.
Ronda was not just a mother; she was the heart of her family. Her personality was one of warmth and kindness, serving as a guiding light in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. As the matriarch, she cultivated an environment full of love, laughter and community. Gatherings were infused with her spirit, as she brought everyone together with her infectious energy and generous heart. Her proudest accomplishment was undeniably the large family she nurtured with dedication and unwavering support, which has blossomed to include 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 9 great, great grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her heart, and she dedicated herself to being a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, creating cherished memories through tradition which will be treasured for generations to come.
Ronda’s surviving sister, Genevieve Wilsher holds such a special place in her heart and will continue to cherish the memories of living and loving such an incredible woman. Ronda leaves behind the legacy of those who have proceeded her in death - her parents, Gladys and Donald Ausman, her husband, Carmen D’Amore, her sister Enola Alibrandi, and her daughter, Judy Erice. Though they are no longer with her, their influence remained a cornerstone for Ronda throughout her life.
Ronda D’Amore will be lovingly remembered – not only for her role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, but also for her ability to unite others through love, faith, and compassion. Her legacy will forever echo in the lives she touched, and though she may be gone from this earth, her spirit will remain in the hearts of all those she touched.
Ronda will be laid to rest on Friday, 23 May 2025 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church (4768 Shannon Hill Rd., Columbia, VA 23038) in a private graveside service for the family at 11:00 AM. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 PM, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of her beautiful life and the indelible mark, she left on each of their hearts.
