Rondal Gary Chambers was born on September 15, 1942, in Danville, West Virginia. He passed away at the age of 82 on November 5, 2024, in Osceola County, Florida. Rondal led a life rich in accomplishments, love, and community engagement.
The son of Clifford and Girlda Chambers, Rondal's upbringing in West Virginia was grounded in family values. The memory of his youth was enriched by the enduring bond he shared with his siblings. His brother Jimmy, and sisters Pauline and Sally preceded him in death, while he is survived by his loving sister, Doris Keene.
A pivotal moment in Rondal's life was his service with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. It was during his deployment in France that he met the love of his life, Liliane Merigard. Their marriage in 1962 was the foundation of a life shared in love and mutual support. Together, they nurtured their family in Michigan, raising three children with unwavering devotion.
Transitioning from military service to business, Rondal relocated to Central Florida in 1982, founding Chem Con Conservation Corporation. His entrepreneurial ventures flourished, including Environmental Enterprises of Florida, Inc., later sold to Stericycle, Inc. Rondal's business successes reflected his diligence and vision, making a notable mark in the environmental sector.
After the tragic loss of their son Robert "BJ" Chambers in 2009, Rondal chose retirement, dedicating more time to his family. His daughters, Ann Hopkins and Michelle Chambers-Jusino, along with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren, were his pride and joy, offering him strength and happiness.
Rondal had a distinctive sense of humor that brought joy to those around him, brightening many occasions. His passions included golf and stock car racing, activities that not only fulfilled him but also highlighted his zest for life.
His moderately religious beliefs were evident through his generous charitable activities, notably with the Shrine, St. Jude, and the DAV. These contributions reflect his deep commitment to helping others and living his faith.
The service in memory of Rondal will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on November 18, 2024, at 1:30 pm, where he will be laid to rest with the dignity befitting his life's accomplishments. As we say farewell to Rondal, let us find comfort in the eternal promise of our faith. Almighty God, we rest assured in your love and mercy, turning to Jesus Christ who brings us hope beyond this life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life, John 3:16. Amen.
In lieu of flowers, donations to DAV.org (Disabled American Veterans) would be greatly appreciated.
