Ronna L. (Byers) Freeman Roberts, age 82, ascended to heaven on February 2, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1943 in Scottsville, Arkansas.
Ronna lived a life full of adventure: zip lining in Costa Rica, white water rafting in Colorado, summer visits to the cabin in Colorado, and many other destinations. Her greatest love and joy, however, were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
An avid collector of all thing’s elephant related, Ronna’s recent focus was curating a substantial collection of house plants, taking great joy in every bloom and new leaf. She will be greatly missed by everyone that new and loved her.
Ronna was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Kathleen (McClain) Byers; first husband and father of Stephanie and Marc, Gene Freeman; brother, Tom Byers; and second husband/adventure partner, Greg Roberts.
Ronna is survived by daughter, Stephanie; son, Marc; nieces, Felicia and Kari; nephew, Jeffery; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephew.
A private graveside service will be held for Ronna. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and may be left in the care of Petersen Family Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas.
