Mr. Ronnie Allen, 70, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, June 20, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Allen was born in Madisonville, VA May 17, 1955 to the late Jesse Thompson and Margaret Allen. He attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of White Oak Grove Baptist Church, Phenix, VA. He was a life member of the Chase City Rescue Squad where he also served as Captain, a retired corrections officer and a driving instructor of VADOC for 21 years. He would later gain employment at VCU Community Memorial Hospital in security and was currently employed by the Mecklenburg County Public School System as a driver. He worked with Irby’s, Carter’s, Jeffress and Dunn & Sons Funeral Homes. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the United States Army.
He enjoyed cutting grass, planting the garden, playing dominoes and pool, and sitting in his recliner relaxing watching his favorite TV shows just to name a few of his favorite pastimes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Allen, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 22 years, Nannie B. Allen; three daughters, Evon Wood (James) of Prospect, VA, Latisha Allen of Richmond , VA, and Tiffany Allen of Chase City, VA; two sons, Kelvin Allen (Chiquita) of Glenn Allen, VA, Rodney Boyd of Washington DC; two granddaughters, four grandsons, four great granddaughters; sisters, Lisa Hinton of Chesterfield, VA, Rita Morton (Henry) of Cumberland, VA, Nita Thompson of Farmville, VA, Janet Allen of Keysville, VA, and Shawna Thompson of NC; one brother, Norman Allen of Charlotte Court House, VA; step-mother, Barbara Thompson of NC; aunts, Frances Walker, Lenora Gilmore and Sandra Butts; two uncles, Fred Thompson and Thomas Thompson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
