Ronnie E. Cain, 81, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday September 3, 2024 after his courageous fight with cancer. Born in Lake City, FL, he was the son of Clarence Edwin Cain and Wanda Virginia Musgrove.
Ronnie met the love of his life, Patty, when they were teenagers and together they raised five children. He earned his masonry apprenticeship in Washington DC. Once he mastered the skill he moved his family to the Eastern Shore in 1970 where he eventually started his own masonry business, Cain Masonry, which was one of the most successful, well respected masonry companies on the Delmarva Peninsula. He was admired for his hard work, integrity and honesty. To quote Ronnie, "You don't have anything in this world unless you have ambition". After retiring at the age of 70, he enjoyed spending time in his yard, feeding the birds, deer and wildlife, going to the gym socializing with his buddies and traveling to his home in Myrtle Beach, SC as often as possible. He and Patty enjoyed spending hours on their balcony or the beach looking at the ocean and shared their love for Myrtle Beach with their family and friends. Ronnie was never at a loss for words, and was best known for his quick wit and sarcasm. Though he had a tough exterior, he also had a big, generous heart. He shared many words of wisdom and funny sayings that his family will cherish.
He is survived by his loving and "tolerant" wife of 62 years, Patricia, their children Martin, Ronald (Aquilla), Terri Alexander (Greg), Susie Gorecki (John), Joey. Grandchildren Greg, Jenn, Ronnie (Kristina), Andrew (Allie), Allison (Will), Dylan and Adam, and his first great grandchild on the way. In addition he is also survived by his sisters, Linda McKenzie, Jackie Noles (Jim), Laraine Danes, bonus daughter Carol Cain, long time family friend Bobby Trader, many nieces and nephews and his beloved rescue dog, Chase.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 13th from 5-7 pm and Saturday, September 14th from 1-2 pm with a short memorial service following at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD. A reception will follow at Asbury United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
