Rhoda Bresner Givarz

Rhoda was born in Brooklyn, NY, and at about age 5 moved with her family to Atlanta. In 1950, she wed Alan Givarz, USN. They were married over 55 years until Alan's passing in 2005. Over the years she lived in Salisbury, MD; Tampa, FL; Houston, TX; Marietta, GA; Sarasota, FL; and Palm Coast, FL.
In addition to raising 3 children,Mark (Alyce) Givarz, Cat Givarz, Jay (Mimi) Givarz, Rhoda worked to support the various family businesses, as well an office manager in an insurance office, Administrator at Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Tampa, and as a hotel manager for LaQuinta.
Rhoda had a passion for Hadassah, where she was involved in leadership in the chapter and regional levels. She also volunteered for Brandeis University and many other causes.
Rhoda was a serious mahjong player, and she loved to teach the game!
Her greatest pleasure was enjoying the beach with her children, 8 grandchildren, Erin, Jessica, Glen, Jacquelyn, Steven, Leah, Zachary, Rachel and 6 great grandchildren Cameron, Ari, Harrison, Casey, Ellenore, Graham.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery, Salisbury, MD.
Services have been entrusted to Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
