Ronnie Eugene Folmsbee, a beloved coal truck driver and dedicated family man, passed away on March 2, 2025, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on October 1, 1959, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Ronnie lived a life filled with passion for his work and love for his family.
As a coal truck driver, Ronnie embraced the rigors of the job with commitment and pride. His work not only provided for his loved ones but also forged a deep connection with the landscapes and communities he served. Outside of his career, Ronnie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, relishing quiet moments by the water, as well as a devoted biker who enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.
Ronnie also cherished the time spent with his granddaughter, Cami Asher, finding immense joy and pride in their relationship. His family, which includes his companion Denna Slusher, children, Marcia Folmsbee, Charity Folmsbee, Christopher Folmsbee, and Becky Asher (and husband, Wally), will forever hold dear the countless memories they shared with him. He is also survived by his brothers Randy Folmsbee, Johnny Folmsbee, Pat Folmsbee, and Tim Folmsbee, and sister Cathy Jackson. Ronnie was proud to be part of a large family and is remembered fondly by a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon John Folmsbee Sr. and Anna Mae Folmsbee; his sister, Lynn Atkinson; step-sons Mark Anthony Gross and Bobby Brandon Marshall; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Mallie and Farmer Gross; and his best friend, Leon Morgan. Their absence is a poignant reminder of the love they once shared.
Ronnie Eugene Folmsbee's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be missed deeply by his family and friends. A compassionate and spirited individual, Ronnie will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his work, his love for the outdoors, and the cherished moments spent with his family.
