Ronald Merrell "Ronnie" Nash, age 76, of Commerce, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his home following an extended illness.
Born June 26, 1948, in Hog Mountain, GA, he was the son of the late Leonard Rufus Nash and Maggie Crow Nash. A master carpenter and general contractor by trade, he was known for his exceptional skill and dedication to his craft. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ronnie's life was enriched by his deep passion for music and his love for fishing, which provided him with joy and solace over the years. However, his greatest joy came from the cherished moments spent with family and friends. He was a devoted member of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife, Rev. Barbara Lynch Nash; children, Shane (Kathy) Nash, Marc (Donna) Duncan, Maggie Nash, Quana Nash, Cherese Nash, Tori Nash, Chris Brown, Jack Brown, and Melissa (Tommy) Smith; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Nash, grandson, Tyler Nash; and ten brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at New Vision Worship Center in Baldwin, GA with Rev. Mickey Umbehant and Rev. Bill Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Banks County Memorial Gardens in Homer. The family will receive friends at the church Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chris Brown, Jimmy Brown, Marc Duncan, Shane Nash, Tommy Smith and Adam Turner.
