Ronnie Ray Siers, Sr. passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 5, 1941, Ronnie was the son of the late Gilbert Siers and Margaret Siers/Lawrence.
Ronnie's educational journey was punctuated with recognition and accolades; he was a proud 1959 graduate of duPont Manual High School, where he shone as an All-State Basketball Player for two consecutive years (1958 and 1959), inducted into the duPont Manual High School Hall of Fame in 2002, received an athletic scholarship to Memphis State University, and later, purposively graduated Cum Laude from Salisbury University in 2014. His professional path through Durkee Famous Foods, Louisville Edible Oil, and Perdue was marked by the same commitment and passion that defined every aspect of his life.
Ronnie's faith was a cornerstone of his existence, reflected in his ceaseless involvement with his church and community. He was honored to be ordained a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Louisville (1981), serving faithfully at Ascension in Kentucky and St. Francis de Sales Parish in Salisbury, Maryland, fulfilling a calling to serve his faith, church, and community. A consistent volunteer at HALO, he extended his hands and heart to those in need, truly embodying the Christian teachings of compassion and service.
When he wasn't spreading kindness in his community, Ronnie could be found rooting for his favorite teams. An avid sports fan, his enthusiastic support for the Kentucky Wildcats, New York Yankees, Cleveland Browns, Salisbury University, and Kentucky Colonels was unwavering. Yet, undoubtedly, his greatest pleasure was found in the time spent surrounded by his beloved family, where laughter and stories were plentiful. Ronnie's zest for life and infectious spirit was a beacon of joy within the family circle.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife Mary June Siers; children, Ronnie Siers, Jr. (Stacie), Laura Smith (Tony), and Christopher Siers; grandchildren, Kelsey, Christopher Jr, Rex, and Zoë; and great-grandchildren, Emily "Mimi," Callum, Maddox, Sutton, and the eagerly anticipated Baby June (due to arrive in November).
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brothers Gilbert and Jackie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on October 17, 2025, at 11:00am with visitation occurring one hour prior. Interment to follow at Parsons Cemetery.
