Ronny R. Mitchell passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 69.

He was born on July 14, 1954, in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of the late Johnny A. and Virgie Lee Anthony Mitchell. Ronny was destined to make an impact on those around him. Growing up in a close-knit community, he developed a strong sense of family values and a genuine concern for others.

His professional journey was diverse and impressive. For many years, he dedicated himself to the real estate industry as a self-employed Real Estate Agent. His expertise and professionalism earned him the respect and trust of his clients. Additionally, Ronny showcased his versatile skills by working in the banking sector in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He later joined the IT department at Jackson-Madison Co. General Hospital for ten years before retiring. Ronny's commitment to his work and desire to help others were evident throughout his career.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ronny had many hobbies and interests that enriched his life and brought joy to those around him. He cherished his role as a family man and adored his wife and their two sons. Their bond was unbreakable, with love and laughter filling their home each day.

Music was an integral part of Ronny's life. He possessed an extraordinary talent for playing various string instruments and excelled at playing the piano as well. Ronny's passion for music extended beyond playing; he was also a talented composer who took great pleasure in creating beautiful melodies that touched the hearts of all who listened.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Ronny found solace in the kitchen and discovered immense satisfaction through the art of cooking. His culinary creations delighted family gatherings and filled their home with enticing aromas that lingered in the hearts and minds of all fortunate enough to taste his dishes. Ronny's green thumb extended to the garden as well, where he meticulously nurtured plants and flowers, creating a vibrant and peaceful oasis.

He is survived by his devoted wife Nancy Mitchell, their sons Jonathan Mitchell and Anthony Mitchell, as well as his dear brother Jacky Mitchell.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Johnny Lee Mitchell in August 1976.

A funeral service to honor Ronny's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 16, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cedar Grove, TN.

The family will begin receiving friends on Saturday, September 16, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until the service time at 2:00 p.m.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org.

Ronny R. Mitchell will forever be remembered as an exceptional individual whose kindness, talents, and love enriched the lives of all who knew him. As we gather to celebrate his life, let us find solace in the treasured memories he leaves behind and strive to emulate his remarkable qualities of compassion and joy.
