Rosa Maria "Rosita" Cantu (nee Delgado), born on January 11, 1949, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, was called home on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was the third child born to Rafael Vicente Delgado and Josefina Cisneros de Delgado, both of whom preceded her in death.
Rosita was part of a very large and close-knit family which included her five brothers: Antonio, Rafael (RIP), Gerald, Victor and Rodolfo; her three sisters: Romelia, Marcela (RIP) and Laura; her five children: Gerardo, Rafael, Patricia, Juan and Rosa Maria; her three sons-in-law: Miguel Angel, Mark and Gabriel; her nine grandchildren: Christina, Benito, Karina, Brisa, Sebastian, Gabriela, Jazmin, Vanessa, and Gabriel; her two great-granddaughters: Ava and Delilah, her beloved fur-baby, Buddy; and her countless nephews, nieces and cousins.
Rosita loved spending time with her parents and her siblings. Those Saturday gatherings, the birthday parties at Studewood Park, the Thanksgiving dinners, the Christmas and New Year parties, meant so much to her. She especially loved spending time with her three sisters, particularly during their trips to Piedras Negras or to San Antonio. She held those trips, those bonding moments with her sisters, close to her heart.
To her children and grandchildren, Rosita was a devoted mother/grandmother who loved and accepted them unconditionally. Her children, grandchildren and, most recently, her two great-granddaughters, meant the world to her, they were her everything.
Rosita was an extraordinary woman. She was kind, soft-spoken, generous and strong. Rosita was unassuming (she never quite believed that she was a beautiful woman, inside and out), and she was such a gentle soul. To have known Rosita, was to have loved Rosita.
Although Rosita's physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit, her light and her love will continue to live within those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, 2901 Canal St., Houston, TX 77003. Viewing will be from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, Rosary Prayer will be at 6:00pm.

To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Rosa Maria Cantu, please visit our Tree Store.
