Rosa Mondelli

Rosa Mondelli, 79, passed away peacefully in her home on August 19, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Rosa was born on July 6, 1945, in Palo Del Colle, Bari, Italy. She moved to Canada to work when she met her husband Raffaele of 55 years. They moved back home to Italy and got married on July 26, 1969. After living in Canada for a while, they immigrated to America in 1976 and established themselves in White Plains, NY, raising their family. In 2017, they moved to Katy, Texas, to enjoy their retirement in a warmer climate.
She was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in White Plains and briefly attended Epiphany of the Lord in Katy, Texas.
Rosa was a dedicated and loving housewife, mother, and Nanni. She was a skilled seamstress. Her skills and love for fashion gave her the opportunity to create some of her own designs for her children and others. Rosa also had a great passion for baking and cooking. She loved cooking traditional Barese (Italian) cuisine as well as trying new recipes. She was well known for her Calzone di Cipolla in the family.
Rosa was an embodiment of selflessness, always prioritizing the needs and happiness of her family. Her compassionate nature and gentle loving spirit made her the most caring person anyone could ever encounter. Rosa's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy is being carried on in the family, as they continue to live up to her creativity, love, strength, and resilience that she taught and left behind.
Rosa is survived by her loving and cherished husband, Raffaele Mondelli, her beloved daughters, Anna (Joel) Khan, Mariella Mondelli, and Silvana (Damian) Gualtieri. Three grandchildren, Rebecca, Mateo, and Gianna. Rosa is predeceased by her parents, brother, and sister.
Rosa's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
A memorial visitation & celebration of her life will be held Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. A Mass will be held Wednesday 10am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in White Plains.
