Rosa Salinas, 75, passed away on November 16, 2024, at UTMB League City Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1949, to Inocencio Leija and Rita Leija de Marines in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico.
On December 26, 1970, she married the love of her life, Epitacio Salinas Sr. with whom she shared the "Fabulous Five", Epy, Becky, Claudia, Lisa and Rose. Her children and grandchildren were her most prized possessions on earth. She dedicated her life to being the most loving, faithful wife and the most caring, compassionate, loving mother and grandmother anyone could ever wish for.
Rosa accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior over 40 years ago and has been a member of both Temple Emmanuel Christian Church in Galveston, TX and GAP Church in Eagle Pass, TX. She served as a Deacon at both churches and will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, her joy in serving and praising the lord and her prayers that helped and touched many lives.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Epitacio Salinas Sr., only devoted daughter Rebeka Salinas, daughters Claudia Salinas, Rose Herrera and bonus daughter Estela Soto (James), grandchildren Mario and Kassandra Salinas, Fernando (Edith), Pablo and Natalia Herrera, Yesenia and Josue Salinas, Marco Salinas (Jacqueline), Melissa, Cristian and Carissa Rodriguez, great grandchildren Damian and Analeah Salinas, Luis Sanchez, Imani and Valeria Herrera, Sebastian Herrera and Amelia Salinas, her sister Laura Alvarado de Leija, brothers Jose, Hector and Sergio Leija, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers in Christ and close friends.
Rosa is preceded in death by her beloved son Epitacio (Epy) Salinas Jr., her parents, sister Elva Chacón de Leija, brothers Lauro (Valo) and Oscar Leija, aunts Maria de la Luz Diaz de Marines, Alica Marines, Fidencia Marines and Jesusita (Chita) Marines.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Carnes Funeral Home Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591 with Rev. Rudy Soto and Rev. Roberto "BK" Bruno officiating. Interment will follow Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, 10708 State Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563. The visitation will be held from 10:00 am to the time of the service. Service as Pallbearers will be her grandsons Fernando and Pablo Herrera, Marco Salinas, Cristian Rodriguez, Josue Salinas and Damian Salinas.
