Rosa was of the Christian Faith and attended Vansant Church of Christ. In 1956 after graduating from Grundy Senior High School, she moved to Pontiac Michigan working in the Automotive Industry for many years and was a member of the Auto Workers of America. After Rosa's retirement she returned to her home in Buchanan County. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Rosa was a loving sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents Elijah and Edna Looney, she is preceded in death by six brothers Edison, Roy, Ralph, Charlie, Ray, and Roger Looney and one sister Frankie Charles.
Survivors include her sisters Goldie Fleming of Louisa, VA, Susie Smith of Vansant, VA, Viola Willett of Clarkston, MI, Ida Mae Roberts and husband Patrick of Highland, MI, Dorothy Owens of Haysi, VA; sisters-in-law Henrietta Looney, Paula Davis; and brother-in-law Kermit Charles.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews
Funeral Services for Rosa Laura Tobeler will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Grundy, VA with Minister Mike Rife officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 7, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m.
