Samuel "Sammy" Mullins Obituary

Sammy was of the Christian faith and was retired from Buchanan General Hospital after working for forty years, where he served as maintenance director. He enjoyed coon hunting, riding horses, and watching old westerns. Sammy loved to tinker on things and was a known handyman who could fix anything. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Jean Mullins, brothers Rufus, Darrell and Billy Joe Mullins.
He is survived by his daughters Samantha Hess and husband Jon of Lebanon, VA, Savanna Powell and husband Travis of Wise, VA; sister Jackie "Sissy" Hamilton and husband Randy of Bristol, TN; grandsons Brennan Hess, Kannan Hess, Roman Hess, and a host of other beloved family members.
Funeral services will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home, Keen Mountain, VA.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 noon.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
