Wanda Gail (Muncy) Davis 73, of Jolo, WV passed peacefully at home Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4:30 am surrounded by her loving husband and family. Born on May 6, 1952, in McDowell Co. WV, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Payne Muncy.
Gail was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV. She devoted her life to being a caring wife, a devoted mother, loving sister, doting granny, and a special aunt. She had a gentle spirit, a giving heart, and a deep love for her family. She cherished time spent with her husband, children, and family, whether gathered at home, traveling together, or celebrating life's simple joys.
Gail enjoyed working outside with her husband in their yard, sister trips, collecting old and new coins for all her grandchildren, beach trips with her daughters and family, sending out cards on special occasions to everyone she knew and taking care of their loving dog, Liberty.
In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Muncy, Lurena Honaker, Johnnie Mae Rose, Clara Stout and Betty Mitchell, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 48 years, Walter Gary Davis, of Jolo, WV; her daughters, Jennifer (Jarrett) Keen, of Pleasant Garden, NC and Christal Hale, of Ramseur, NC; step-children, Jim (Brandi) Davis, of Stephenson, VA and Kimberly (Todd) Hatcher, of Blountville, TN; and sister, Ruth Fowler, of Dallas, GA.
She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Tosha (Joe) Warren, Tiffany (Cole) Jones, Whitley Hale, Katelyn (Jesse) Byrd, Tatum Hatcher, Holston Hatcher, Madison Davis, Mason Davis; great-grandchildren, Reed Stewart, Hayden and Grayson Warren, Ezra Byrd, Chase, Ella, Colton Jones; several special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Gail's life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV, with Pastor Charles Rose and Rev. Kenneth Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery in Wolfpen Hollow, Jolo WV.
Gail's warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will remain with all who knew her. Though she is gone from our sight, she will live forever in our hearts.
Active pallbearers will be Jarrett Keen, Joe Warren, Cole Jones, Jason Keen, John Davis, Chantin Davis, Maxx Revis, Kenny Bug Davis, and Michael Seabolt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Davis, Ricky Honaker, Larry Mitchell and special brother-in-law, Doug Mitchell.
The family will receive friends at the Family Worship Center after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday with evening with services to begin at 7:00 p.m.
