On July 24, 2025, Rosabelle Ann (Mundy) Knight, 90, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a long illness.
Rosabelle was born October 4, 1934, to Elmore and Lillie (Pitman) Mundy of Huron. She graduated from Huron High School, a part of the class of 1952. She met Randell John Knight in 1953, when Randell was home on leave from the service. They were married on October 29, 1954.
Rosie, as she was known by most family and friends, worked for several years at Trav-lers, in Orleans, at M. Fines, in Bedford, served as a cook at the Huron Elementary school, and finally as a teacher's aide at Burris Elementary School, in Mitchell, until her retirement. She was known for many years by many as the local Avon lady; she dealt in antiques for many years and loved to barter; she was grifted at crochet, quilting, and yarn work; and she loved nature, and caringly worked her flower gardens. Rosabelle loved to travel, and she and Randy proudly noted all their many trips across all the United States and all the many new friends they made along the way. She loved working with children, serving as a Cub Scouts Den Mother, Sunday school secretary at her church, Bible School helper, working with children at school, and taking on all the grand parenting roles for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosabelle was a member of the Huron Church of God, attending from her teenage years until she was no longer of the health to do so.
She was preceded in death by Randell, her husband of nearly 70 years. She was also preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings; Leithal Mundy, Ralph Mundy, Harold Mundy, Jesse (Junior) Mundy, Ilene Richardson, Lucille Kelly, Goldie Mundy, Bonnie Roberts, Arthur Mundy, Riley Mundy, Lester Mundy, Viola Snow, and Violet Dorsett. She had many close friends over the years, and she always had a smile for everyone.
She is survived by her daughter; Cathy (Johnny) White, son; Rex (Linda) Knight, granddaughters; Alicia Toliver and Shauna (Kyle) Wilkinson, grandsons; Joey Toliver, Shane (Cortney) Knight, great grandchildren; Bailey Smith, Josh Turley, Madabelle Toliver, Hudson Wilkinson, Wyatt Wilkinson, Ashley Reed, and Riley Clark.
Rosabelle would want the family to express our sincere appreciation for all the wonderful staff at the Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially those of the Cottage and those who so caringly watched over her during her final few days.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Minister John Moffatt officiating. Burial will be at Huron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
