Rosalie Elizabeth Allely

Rosalie Elizabeth Allely, 87, of Long Beach, Mississippi, passed away on June 27, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Edith Lackwood; her older brothers, Chuck and John; the father of her children, Philip B. Keith Jr.; and her late husband, Richard Allely.

Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Linda Sue, and three sons: Philip, John, and David. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rosalie was a proud graduate of Ohio State University, where she earned a full scholarship at the age of 16 and began her career in the field of low vision. She later studied at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.

Throughout her career, Rosalie worked at Economy Insurance, Tulane Medical Center, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and The Light House.

Rosalie was a pioneer in the field of low vision, a world traveler, and a woman of many interests. She loved shopping, going out to eat, and enjoyed creating as an artist and seamstress. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Long Beach.

Rosalie had a beautiful spirit and always spread love and kindness throughout her life. She was one tough cookie, a free spirit, and an adventurer who loved her family and friends dearly. She always believed that anything was possible.

She will be dearly missed. "I love you, Mom."
