Flanner Buchanan - Broad RippleOn October 19th, during her favorite time of year, Rosalie Ann (Brown) Stricker, chose to leap into the Hereafter. She and her twin brother Bill were born to Regina Gertrude (Weinman) Brown and Wesley L. Brown on May 1st 1929 in Chicago. They grew up in the country and attended a two-room school house till middle school. She married her college sweetheart, Bill Stricker, on July 14th, 1951. They eventually moved to Indianapolis and raised 8 children.
She leaves behind her surviving children Barbara Smith, Janice Swan, Marilyn Stricker (Bill Barker), David (Karen) Stricker, Bill Stricker Jr., and Guy (Denise) Stricker, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her husband Bill, her brother Bill, her sons Mathew and Robert Stricker and her grandson, Jacob Stricker, predeceased her and are no doubt waiting to greet her, ready for a festive reunion.
Rosalie was known for her kindness and good humor. When any of the children would complain about other people, we would be admonished with “Imagine yourself in their shoes.” or “You do not know the burdens they may carry.”
She will be dearly missed, not only by her family, but by all who knew her.
She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul for many years and a founding member of the Resurrection Choir at St. Lawrence.
Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Broad Ripple on October 30th from 5-7:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on October 31st at 11AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church where she was a member for over 60 years.
