Rosalind (Young) Woodburn, age 95, of Ashtabula, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 14, 2025, at her home. She was born April 19, 1930, a daughter of the late Earl T. and Dorothy W. Young.
Rosalind was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Merl W. Woodburn; two sisters, Mercedes Young, and Yvonne Miller; two grandchildren, Samuel M. Woodburn and Marie L. Williams; and a great-grandson Zachary Woodburn.
After graduating from Edgewood High school, she performed as a ballerina for the Cleveland Light Opera at the Cleveland Public Auditorium. She then attended Hiram College for a year.
Rosalind and her husband Merl married on November 23, 1950, at the Eastside Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.
She helped her son through military school by selling Avon for 10 years; and sang in the Sweet Adelines for 9 years.
Rosalind was a sweet, kind soul who loved the Lord and her family. She had a strong Christian faith, which you could see in every aspect of her life. She loved to sing and had an outstanding, angelic voice. She enjoyed playing the piano, nature, musicals, and scrabble.
Rosalind is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Cindy Woodburn; her sister, Evangeline Glass; her sister-in-law Beverly J. Woodburn; her grandchildren, Matthew E. Woodburn, Aimie L. Brown (Shane Brown); Her five great-grandchildren, Cody Conley (Matt Conley), Cheyenne Brown, Cassidie Brown, Matthew Woodburn, Miayah Woodburn; and her great-great-granddaughter Skylar Conley
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
