Born in Mexico, Rosalio Torres was a strong, brave, and hardworking man who came to the United States as part of the Bracero Program to help meet the labor needs of the U.S. He and Julia moved from the South to the Midwest to give their family better educational and life opportunities. He worked tirelessly to support his growing family and build a lasting home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Julia Ramos, with whom he raised six children: David, Lydia, Angie, Irene, Amelia, and Rosamaria. He later remarried and is survived by his second wife, Ana Aguirre Solis. A proud grandfather, he leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild soon to join the family.
Rosalio was known for his love of learning, strong work ethic, and courage. He loved dogs and had a playful nature with children. Proud of his Mexican roots, he was equally proud to have become a U.S. citizen. It brought him joy to see his children and grandchildren learn, grow, graduate, and serve their country.
His legacy is one of perseverance, humility, and quiet inspiration. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
