Rosario "Ray" Andolina

Rosario 'Ray' Andolina, 85, of New Rochelle, NY, passed away on September 12, 2025 in White Plains, NY.
Ray was born in Sciara, Sicily, Italy to Pietro & Maria Andolina (Nee: Mendola) on December 5th, 1939. Ray attended New Rochelle schools upon the family's arrival to the United States. Ray went to high school at New Rochelle High School and graduated in 1958. Ray entered the United States Marine Corp and upon his honorable discharge, worked in construction for a few years. In 1965, he joined the New Rochelle Police Department where he worked until 1971 when he and his friend, Frank Garafola, opened "The Yellow Submarine" restaurant near IONA college. After the success of that initial store, Ray and Frank opened two others. Ray would go on to open several more locations in New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, The Bronx and one in Tampa, Florida. After almost 30 years, Ray closed The last Yellow Submarine in 2000. After moving on from the restaurant business, Ray began a career in Real Estate which he continued until his death.
Ray is survived by his son, Raymond P. Andolina & his daughter-in-law, Christina Ferrari-Andolina of Mahopac, NY. His daughter, Susan Andolina-Gilleo and son-in-law, Kevin Gilleo of Murrells Inlet, SC. Ray is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard &Tina Maccarone, Amanda & Thomas Krieger, Joseph & Amanda Maccarone, Melynie Ferrari, Jessica Ferrari, Stefani Ferrari, Harley Varley and his great grandchildren, Julia & Samuel Maccarone. Ray is also survived by his siblings Phillip Andolina, a sister, Josephine and her husband, Joseph Micelli. Ray was preceded in death by the love of his life, Constance 'Connie' Andolina, who passed in 2012 after 50 years of Marriage.
Funeral service will be held at Church of the Holy Family, 83 Clove Rd, New Rochelle, NY on Tuesday, September, 16th, 2025 at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, 100 Mill St, Putnam Valley, NY. Visitation will be held at 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle, NY on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 3PM to 7PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons who will be handling the funeral arrangements.
