Rosco Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rawls Mortuary on Mar. 10, 2026.
Rosco Lydell Jackson Sr., age 75, of South Bend, Indiana, passed into glory on Saturday,

February 28, 2026, at 3:45 a.m. in his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Rosco

was born on May 26, 1950, to Henry and Mary Jackson.

Rosco attended Washington High School in South Bend and later completed his education in

Waynesville, Missouri. During his school years, he played basketball and ran track, where he

was affectionately known as "Squirrel"

On May 19, 1984, Rosco married the love of his life, Victoria Love Jackson. They shared 42

years of marriage. Rosco often said, "Victoria was the first person to show me a Godly

love-looking beyond all my faults and seeing my needs."

On November 11, 1994, Rosco fully surrendered his life to the Lord under the leadership and

mentorship of Superintendent Pastor Joe W. Howard at Elizabeth Memorial Church of God in

Christ. Later, on September 10, 2000, God called Rosco and Victoria to birth Unity in God

Through Christ Outreach Ministry, Inc. The ministry began with 12 members and was overseen

by Roderick and Audrey Jones of New Creation Ministry. Rosco was blessed with a church

family that was faithful, loyal, dedicated, and loving. He will truly be missed by them all.

One of Rosco and Victoria's greatest passions was helping others through outreach programs

such as S.L.A.C. (Saving the Lost at All Cost) and S.W.A.T. (Soul Winning Across Town). They

carried a deep passion for reaching lost souls. Through God's guidance, they opened two

homes to minister to those in need: Unity Home for Men and Eunice House for Women. To this

day, many lives continue to remember Rosco's words of encouragement and compassion.

Rosco worked for AM General and later drove for Transpo City Bus for over 40 years. He often

referred to this as his first pulpit, as he ministered to countless people during his years of

service. In July of 2015, Rosco retired from Transpo following the passing of his beloved

daughter, Precious S. Jackson.

Rosco's greatest loves in life were God, his wife, his family, his loving church members, and his

dogs. He had a special affection for Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Great Danes,

Rottweilers, Cane Corsos, and Bullies.

Rosco made many friends throughout his life, but he held a special love for the Lakeside

community, whom he loved dearly. Through those friendships, he experienced the true meaning

of family love and loyalty.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Victoria Love Jackson;

He is survived by the Jackson Dynasty, including:

Andre (Toi) Gunn of South Bend, IN; Monica Clark of Arizona; Consuella (Alphonso) Hopkins Jr.

Brian (Tanya) Jackson of Indianapolis, IN; Terrance (Vonda) Jackson of South Bend, IN;

(Dave) of Wildwood, Missouri

Rosco's legacy also includes over 130 grandchildren, over 70 great-grandchildren, and more

than 50 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of loving family members and friends.

Rosco was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his parents, Henry

and Mary Jackson; his brother, Anthony R. Jackson; his daughter, Precious S. Jackson; his son,

Special thanks to Dawn and Jerome Jones.

Rosco's Favorite Sayings

fruitcake.""What's love got to do with it? ... Everythang.""I will always triumph through Christ

Jesus.""Who would have ever thought I'd get to know Him this way.""It's all good because it's all

God.""You must have the fruit of the Spirit to make it in."

We will truly miss this Jackson Strong pioneer.
