Rose Barone Obituary
Rose is survived by her devoted daughters, Kristin Marie Barone and Amber Barone Stevens; granddaughter, Emmie Rose Stevens; cherished siblings, Marie Mistretta Fontenot (Brian), Jerome Mistretta (Nancy), and Kelly Mistretta (Tina); as well as her nieces, Amanda, Sherry, Lauren, Jessica, and Jodi; her nephew, Jim; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Known affectionately as "Mrs. Rose" by her students, she was an educator with the St. Bernard Parish School System for close to 25 years until her retirement. She worked for Joseph Davies Elementary School ("Joe Davies") in Meraux and adored all of her students. She felt immense joy being able to watch many of her students grow into adults. During her last years with Joe Davies, she worked alongside Pre-K 4 teacher, Felicia Guerra, whom she loved and viewed as a third daughter. They were known as "the dream team."
Rose enjoyed spending time at the casinos with her daughter, Kristin, and sister, Marie. She also enjoyed her time with her daughter, Amber, shopping and "getting their nails did;" however, her greatest joy was her granddaughter, Emmie Rose Stevens. She also had a special place in her heart for her Aunt Pat and Uncle Frank.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to her caregivers, Kelly Creel, Lisa Oakley, and Amie Stander.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, located at 2621 Colonial Blvd, Violet, LA 70092. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com

My best memory Roseanne was at grandma's house on a Sunday playing Booray, or Boree depending on how you want to spell it, lol! And her losing a hand with everyone laughing and Roseanne saying it's ok because I get paid on Monday! I couldn't wait to play but I wasn't 16 yet and those were the rules:) Roseanne you were always such a doll and you will be missed. Prayers to your family.
