With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished mother and family matriarch, Rose Crapis, who peacefully graduated to heaven on Friday, August 2, 2024. Born on October 30, 1932, in her Brooklyn home, Rose's journey through life was a testament to her unwavering faith, boundless love, and enduring strength. Rose Crapis was the most devoted of mothers to seven children, though she was preceded in death by her beloved son Mario. She is deeply missed by her surviving children Vinette Stegura (Paul), Jerry Crapis (Debbie), Angel Bifalco (Gennaro), Damian Crapis, Tresann Szumlicz, and Ria Ruane. Her legacy will continue to live on through her 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A proud summa cum laude graduate from Kean University, Rose spent 31 years enriching the lives of her students as a dedicated teacher in the Irvington Public School System. Her passion for education was matched only by her profound commitment to her Catholic faith, which served as the foundation of her life. As a devoted member of the Carmelite Order, Rose was actively involved in various religious and community organizations, embodying a spirit of service and compassion.
A celebration of her remarkable life will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Justin the Martyr Church, 975 Fischer Boulevard, Toms River, NJ 08753. Friends and family are invited to share their condolences and fond memories at www.carmonabolenfh.com.
Rose's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her grace. She was and will continue to be a lighthouse for all, guiding us towards the goodness of God. Her memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those who knew her.
