Charlene Gould

Together for 56 years, Charlene and William R. Gould, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21, 2025, and are together forever.

Charlene was born on September 4, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey to her late parents, Noble and Lillian (nee: Koller) Colclough.

William R. Gould was born on December 1, 1944, in East Orange to his late parents, William D. and Lily Ann (nee: Unsworth) Gould.

Charlene and William met at work and married in 1969. In 1975 they moved from Lake Hiawatha to Toms River, where they would raise their sons, William and Paul. After having their children, Charlene would stay home to care for her family while William worked as an Operating Engineer for Local 825 in New Jersey, retiring in 2006.

Charlene enjoyed making crafts, especially basket weaving with cornhusks. She enjoyed gardening and throughout her life always had a garden. She loved animals, especially the squirrels and deer that would come to her backyard.

William was very handy and always working on projects to make a beautiful home. Through challenges he always found a way and was a very determined person.

Charlene is preceded in death by her sister, Diane Skae.

Surviving Charlene and William are their sons, William M. Gould and Paul N. Gould, their two grandchildren, Hannah Rose Gould and Paige Noel Gould as well as William's siblings, Tom E. Gould and Nancy J. Sher.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River, New Jersey 08753. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 2:00pm. Burial will immediately follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, New Jersey 08753.
