Cuda, Rose Theresa
SCHENECTADY - Our dearly beloved mother, Rose Theresa Cuda, 101, of Schenectady, N.Y., passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord, on March 25, 2026.
She was the cherished daughter and youngest of eight children born to Rose and Cosmo Cortesi, who emigrated from Italy to Schenectady in 1906, and began their life together in America. Rose was born on January 18, 1925, the youngest of eight children. She spent her childhood on Carrie St., surrounded by the love of her parents and close-knit family.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Rose's devotion began in childhood at St. Anthony's Church where she attended Mass with her parents and siblings. Those early years, rooted in the warmth of her church and a caring community, shaped a lifelong commitment to her faith, family, and friends. This devotion was reflected in every role she embraced-as a loving daughter, sister, wife, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her kindness and generosity touched all who knew her, and she found true joy in caring for and giving to others.
Rose attended Nott Terrace High School, and went on to work at General Electric. On May 10, 1947, Rose and Anthony (Tony) Cuda, also of Schenectady, married at St. Anthony's Church. It was the beginning of a blessed and beautiful marriage that would span 65 years. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, friends, and hard work. In 1955, they founded Anthony's Television Service, faithfully serving their community for 38 years until retiring in 1993.
Their four children were the heart of their lives, Rose and Tony were devoted to raising each of them with strong values rooted in faith, family, education, altruism, and joy. Rose found happiness, along with Tony in life's simple pleasures-playing the piano, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking and baking for those she loved, hosting cherished family gatherings every Sunday, and decorating for holiday celebrations. She also loved knitting and crocheting and summers on Lake George. Rose gave generously of her time volunteering at St. Paul's Church as a life-long Rosarian and also supporting the activities of both St. Paul's Grammar School and Notre Dame and Bishop Gibbons High Schools. It brought her great joy to be surrounded by her children and their friends.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved parents, Rose and Cosmo; her devoted husband, Tony; her loving son, Anthony, whom she and Tony so tenderly cared for; her brother and his wife, Dr. Joseph (Lydia) Cortesi; her sisters and their husbands, Theresa (Jerry) Lomaestro, Mary (Carmen) Castiglione, Ann (Robert) Telfer, Fay DiMonte, Laura (Frank) Caslin, and Phyllis (Joseph) Sorrentino; her in-laws, Agostino and Domenica Cuda; her sisters-in-law, Vicki (Dominick) Spadea, Angie (George) Fountain; and her brother-in-law, Claude Venditti.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Patricia (Richard) Nicolella, Carol (Dr. Michael) Perrino, and Paul (Cara) Cuda; her grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Sari) Perrino, Dr. David (Joanna) Perrino, Julianne (Thomas) Barnes, Dr. Caroline (Joseph) Kennedy, Marnie Nicolella, Kristen (Kevin) Dalton; her great-grandchildren, Eli and Sidney Perrino, Miles and Ruby Perrino, Zoey and Molly Barnes, and Grace, Jack, Natalie, and Sophie Dalton. Rose leaves also behind her sister-in-law Rose Venditti; and many cherished nieces and nephews, and their families.

We will always be grateful for the love, attention, good times, and simple connections you so generously gave to her.
Also with profound gratitude, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Rose's private-duty caregivers, and to Jen and the Hospice staff, for their care over the last few months.
