Rose Diekamp of Perryville entered eternal rest on July 30, 2025, at Independence Care Center in Perryville at the age of 83. She was born on May 23, 1942, in Belgique, Missouri, to the late William and Mildred (Dallas) Wingerter.
She is survived by her children, Duane Thompson and his wife Becky, and Kim Jones and her husband Terry; her stepchildren, Michelle Senn and her husband Nick, Mary Diekamp, and Robyn Pitts and her husband Tyler; her grandchildren, Kayla (Clayton) Woodworth, Haley Thompson, Paul Thompson, Jessica (Trever) Miller, and Luke Jones; her step-grandchildren, Jon (Cari) Senn, Josh (Keeley) Senn, Josyln Looney, Carter Looney, Jackson Miller, Jordan Pitts, and Sydney Pitts; great-grandchild, Matt Woodworth; and step great-grandchild, Sammy Senn.
Rose is also survived by her siblings, Norman Wingerter, June Vinson, and Joan Buchheit; sister-in-law, Carol Wingerter; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bob Diekamp and her siblings, Jean Galloway, Donald (Jean) Wingerter, Dale (Jo) Wingerter, Dick Wingerter, Lester Wingerter, and Edna Colin; her sister-in-law, Delores Wingerter; and her brothers-in-law, Harold Vinson, Lloyd Buchheit and Richard Colin.
Rose had a love for travel and a passion for the game of horseshoes. Her skill and dedication led her to become the Missouri State Horseshoe Champion an impressive nine times. She also had an accomplished career in architectural drafting, where her precision and creativity left a lasting impact on those she worked with. She will be remembered for her competitive spirit, kind heart, and the joy she brought to those around her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her remarkable life and the joy she brought to others during a Visitation on August 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St. Peters, MO, 63376. Following the Visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same location from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
As we gather to honor Rose Mary’s memory, we reflect on a life well-lived. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will not be forgotten.
