Rose Marie Martinez went to be with the lord on January 19, 2024 at the age of 70. She was born on November 25, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas. She is predeceased by her parents, Jose Antonio Martinez and Mary Lee Martinez, her brother, John Anthony Martinez and her brother-in-law Manual Bazan III. She is survived by her siblings sister-in-law (Gloria Martinez), Mary Angela Villanueva, Mary Kathleen Ayala (Robert), Michael Anthony Martinez (Gilda), Teresa Ann Singleton and Rebecca Louise Avey (William).
Nieces & Nephews & their families George Villanueva II (Jennifer, Vincent, Devin), Robert Anthony Ayala (Cheyenne, Darren), Shelby Marie Ayala (Remi), Eleanor Lee and Gavin Aaron Avey.
Rose graduated from Luther Burbank HS in 1972 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in 1977. She went on to become a bilingual kindergarten teacher. Loving children, she also taught CCD classes and coached little league baseball.
Rose never had any children of her own, but being the oldest of seven, she was like a second mother to us. She was always there for us, whether it was helping financially to purchase our first cars or giving us rides to places. We all have fond memories of her piling us up in her car to take us to the drive-in. She even broke her arm taking us to the skating rink. She liked to go water skiing & horseback riding. She always had a smile for you that would light up the room & melt your heart no matter what kind of day she was having. She was the best big sister that anyone could ask for and we were truly Blessed to have her in our lives for as long as we did! We Love You & we will Miss You Everyday!
