Rose C. (Nobile) McCarthy, 95, formally of Christy Road, Portland, Maine passed away March 26, 2026, at Summerfield Senor Living Center, Bradenton, Florida. Rose was born in Portland, Maine on November 19, 1930. A daughter of Antonio Nobile and Albina Molinelli Nobile. She married her husband James in January 1961and together they had a son James, Jr., who passed away in May 2002.

She attended Portland schools and was a graduate of Portland High School class of 1948. She worked as a receptionist at and retired from Burnham Morrill Baked Bean Company in 1954. After retiring from Burnham Morrill, she and her husband owned and worked at Mill Creek Laundry in South Portland, Maine. After leaving the laundry business in Mill Creek she and her husband moved to Florida and enjoyed many years on the golf course and enjoying their retirement in the comfort of the Florida weather.

Rose started playing golf when she retired and became an avid golfer winning several championships in her league. She was an active member of the Riverside Golf Association, the Maine Senior Golf Association, the Southern Maine Woman's Golf Association and the Maine State Golf Association.

Rose was a devoted Catholic and a parish member of St. Peter's church on Federal Street in Portland, Maine. While in Florida she was a member of the St. Joseph's Parish on 26th Avenue, Bradenton, Florida.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, husband, son, and her three brothers James, Ralph and John. Private funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.
