Rose Morris Obituary

Rose Edith Morris ("Dee Dee") was born in Dewar, Oklahoma on September 19, 1944, and passed away peacefully at her home in Argyle, Texas following a brief battle with cancer on September 3, 2025, days away from her 81st birthday.

Married for over 50 years to Lloyd Robert Morris, they had three children, Stephen Craig Morris, Brent David Morris, and Michelle Rene Morris (Schmidt). Lloyd and Dee Dee shared a wonderful life together, traveling across the world in their RV or on their motorcycle, visiting swap meets, estate sales, and classic car shows, frequenting state parks or the rattle snake hunt with their grandchildren, celebrating with their family and friends any chance they could. Dee Dee worked in special education, volunteered for the Special Olympics, worked in electronics and as an interior designer, and shared a special place in her heart for anyone that needed help or an ear to bend. She lived her life for others, never knew a stranger, and could bring out the best in anyone. She loved to entertain, enjoyed sharing her hilarious wit with others, and always took time to recognize when someone needed help, even giving away the shoes on her feet. She enjoyed bible studies with her prayer group, attending church at The Well, creating a beautiful garden in her backyard, and her greatest love was baking, cooking and just spending time with her grandchildren.

Dee Dee is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, her parents Charles Henry Friend and Willie Mae Lumpkin Friend, as well as siblings Jannie Bell Friend, Floyd Harper Friend, Patsy Hoilene Friend, Mary Alice Friend, Ruth Ann Friend and Ernest Wayne Friend. She is survived by her sister Donna Paulette Friend Quick, her children Stephen, Brent and wife Charlotte, and Michelle and husband Ronald Schmidt, her grandchildren Brittany Eaton and husband Tyler Davis, Jace Allen Morris, Sean David Morris, Ian Conor Morris and Erich Hans Thomas Schmidt, as well as one great grandchild, Pierce Gardner Davis, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on September 10, 2025, at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, Texas with visitation being held beforehand at 1pm and a graveside memorial immediately following the service at Roselawn Memorial Park.
