Rose Marie Payne

Rose Marie Payne was born January 28, 1939, in Rouse, CO, to Angelo and Mary Pugnetti, one of
three children. She attended Aguilar High School, working several jobs before marrying Franklin Roy
Payne and starting a family in 1972. They raised three children, Edward, Sherri, and Franklin. Rose
was always on the go-bowling, playing softball, playing Bingo and cards, meeting friends for
coffee, attending her kids' and grandkids' school activities and sports, and being a very involved
grandma. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Aguilar. Rose passed away
peacefully in her sleep at home on September 27, 2025, and was preceded in death by her parents,
Angelo and Mary Pugnetti, brother, Angelo Pugnetti, and husband Frank Payne. She is survived by
her children, Edward (Shanah) Pugnetti, Franklin Payne, Sherri Payne; brother Charles Pugnetti;
grandchildren Marino Pugnetti and Angelo (McKenna) Pugnetti; sisters-in-law, Esther Pugnetti,
Lorraine Shinn, Marian Roscoe, and Velda Payne. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 12:30 p.m.
with Mass to immediately follow, Friday, October 3, 2025, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in
Aguilar. Burial at 4:00 p.m. at Masonic Cemetery in Walsenburg.
