Rose Rogers, 79, wife of Elvin Eugene Rogers, died Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Born, October 30, 1946, in Turkey. She was a daughter of the late Murat Babayigi and the late Kadriye Pazar çik Babayigit. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. She found great joy taking care of her devoted husband of over 55 years, sewing and making clothes for others, cooking. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Elvin Rogers (Tonya) of Turbeville; a daughter, Annie Rogers Coker (Don) of Sumter; Eight grandchildren, Kayla Rogers-Holliday (Joey), Dylan Rogers (Shannon), Caitlin McCoy, Jim Compton (Kellee), John Compton (Britnee), Joshua Compton (Brittney), Jordon Rogers (Amber), Preston Rogers; eighteen great grandchildren; three brothers, and a sister.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6 PM – 8 PM at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
Funeral service will be 2 PM on Friday, in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hummel, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Solid Rock Baptist Church, 940 Santa Fe Trail, Sumter, SC 29154.
