Harold "Scott" McLeod passed away on February 20, 2026 at age 75.
Scott was a beloved friend and a steady, caring presence in the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by the many friends and neighbors in Fayetteville who became his extended family and who will miss him deeply.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable loss, his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched.
Scott grew up in Scranton, S.C. with his parents, John S. McLeod and Eula McLeod, and his two brothers, John and Angus.
He was preceded in death by all of these close family members.
He was passionate about his Radio Career, covering several decades in places such as Lake City, SC, Sumter, SC, Mobile, AL, Arizona, Iowa as DJ and General Manager of those stations. After radio, He became an educator in Computer Technology in the Fayetteville area. He enjoyed in his later years woodworking and remodeling his lovely home with expert skills in making and improving on the house he and his brother Angus had purchased.
Those who knew Scott will carry forward memories of his character, his laughter, and the comfort of his friendship.
His life was defined not only by what he did, but by how he made others feel — respected, supported, and loved.
