Rose Salter, 83 Plaza, formerly of New Town, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Funeral Mass: Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, New Town Visitation: Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church, New Town Rosary: Monday, August 11, 2025, at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, New Town Interment: Riverview Cemetery, rural New Town. ************************** Rose Marie (Lindley) Salter was born May 26, 1942, in Epworth, ND, to Charley and Victoria (Brien) Lindley. She was raised on the family farm and attended country school. The family moved to Sanish, and Rosie graduated from New Town High School in 1960. Rosie was united in marriage to Darrell Salter on October 10, 1970, in Stanley. They made their home in New Town until 2014, when they moved to Plaza. Throughout her life, Rosie worked a variety of jobs, including helping Ms. Ruland clean the telephone office and waitressing with her sister at the Orange Barrel. She also worked at Rexall Drug for Ardell Moe, the Gronos Department Store, and managed Dell's Dress shop. Additionally, she owned and operated Lakeside Trailer Court and Saltey's Bar for several years. Rosie cherished time together with family. She celebrated everybody's birthday and decorated for all the holidays. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards (especially Gin), and was lucky at pull-tabs. Her gentle smile and generous heart will be missed by all who know her. On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Rose Marie Salter, at the age of 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Plaza. Blessed be her memory among us. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney Overlie; siblings, Larry Lindley, Ronnie Lindley, Clarence "Buzz" Lindley, and Shirley Price; nephew, Jesse Lindley; and niece, Jodi Lindley. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Salter; sons, Kevin Overlie (Becky), and Mike Salter (Wendy Brunsell); daughter, Missy Salter; brothers, Kenny Lindley (Mona), and Gary Lindley (Sue Romero); grandchildren, Paul Staples, Kolby Overlie, Winter Rose Overlie Shayna Johnson (Derek), Jarica Salter, Doramarie Salter, Aaron Salter, and Melody Benton; great-grandchildren, Stewart, Saige and Sedar; Mason, Easton, Lyndi, and Harper; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
