Rose Marie Scully, 79, of Toledo, Iowa, formally of Oelwein, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Birkwood Village in Tama. She was born on May 27, 1945, in Sumner, the daughter of Leo and Mabel (Boeckenheuer) Bachman. Rose Marie was raised and educated in Fayette County and attended Strawberry Point High School.
On July 6, 1963, Rose Marie was united in marriage to Dennis Scully at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Three children were born to this union. Rose Marie and Dennis resided in Elkader and Walker before moving to Oelwein in 1965. Dennis passed away in 2019.
Rose Marie was active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. She enjoyed fishing, visiting the casino and reading. Most of all Rose Marie enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her three children, Deanna Scully of Marshalltown, Karianne (Bill) Hendrix of Mattoon, Illinois, and Patrick Scully of Camden, South Carolina; her four grandchildren, Caitlin Scully of North Liberty and Hope, Damien, and Jackson Scully of Clinton; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Dennis Scully; her two brothers, Virgil (Anoma) Bachman and LaVern (Donna) Bachman; two sisters, Shirley (Harold) Pfister and Mavis (Clarence) Reierson.
