Rose Mary Shepard

Rose Mary Shepard went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2024 in Midland, Texas. Rose was born February 5, 1940, to John Anderson Powell Sr. and Julia Bell Powell in Bastrop, Texas. She was the oldest of four children born to John and Julia.

Rose attended public schools in Smithfield, Texas. She was a member of Parks Memorial COGIC in Odessa, Texas for over 50 years where she served faithfully as a member of Parks Memorial.  Rose married Woodie Shepard on May 31, 1956, to which five children were born. She was a housewife and worked as an insurance agent for several years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, one sister, two brothers and two grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Woodie Jr. (Pam) Shepard of Norman, OK; Brenda (Sam) Fields of Odessa, TX; Darrell Shepard of Grand Prairie; Patricia Shepard of Odessa, 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, a host of great great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Cheri Shepard of Oklahoma and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She also has many friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation is set from 1PM-9PM Wednesday April 24, 2024, at Martinez Funeral Home chapel.

A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Shepard has been set for 10AM Thursday April 25, 2924, at Living Vision Ministries 525 S Grandview Odessa, TX 79761 with Pastor Roy L Colvin Sr. as the eulogist and Reverend Darren Willis officiating.

Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Odessa II section.
