Rose, born July 25, 1938, in Piqua, Kansas. She met the love of her life, Ralph Steinbacher, at a CYO dance in Topeka in 1960. Their courtship blossomed through heartfelt letters, culminating in their marriage on June 30, 1962. They settled in Bonner Springs in 1969, raising their large and loving family.
Rose's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family. She took immense pride in being a homemaker, nurturing her nine children and embracing every moment with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished the holidays, particularly Christmas, and the countless memories created with her extensive family. Her infectious love was evident in her generous hugs and kisses, especially showered upon her youngest great-grandchild, just last week.
Rose possessed a remarkable strength and unwavering faith. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace, never shying away from any obstacle. Her devout Catholicism was a cornerstone of her life, and she faithfully attended services throughout her years. She was also a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Hoag; three brothers Bob, Eugene, and Louis Hoag; three sisters Barbara Roberts, Thresa Ehrhart, and Helen Hobbs. Three sisters-in-law Rosemarie, Carrie and Rita Hoag and two brothers-in-law Floyd Hobbs and Terry Ehrhart.
Rose is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Ralph Steinbacher; her nine children: Diane (Brad) Stockhoff of Basehor, Kansas; Gene (Jacquie) Steinbacher of Wamego, Kansas; Barbara Sosebee of Kansas City, Missouri; John (Michele) Steinbacher of Wichita, Kansas; Joe Steinbacher and his partner Marie Baxter of Bonner Springs, Kansas; Greg (Elizabeth) Steinbacher of Shawnee, Kansas; Dan (Kim) Steinbacher of Olathe, Kansas; Mary (Craig) Koeberl of Gardner, Kansas; and Andrew (Amanda) Steinbacher of Fairway, Kansas; her brothers, Gil Hoag of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Jim Hoag of Toronto, Kansas; brother-in-law Roger Roberts and sister-in-law Sally Hoag, as well as 35 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, all of whom will deeply miss her vibrant spirit and boundless love.
