Rose Marie Stich

Rose Marie Gries Stich, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Born on October 18, 1934, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Gries and Lillian "Billie" Thomas Gries. Rose was the devoted wife of John Peter Stich, Sr., with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

A proud graduate of Ursuline High School, Class of 1952, Rose spent her entire life in Louisville. She worked for many years as a Secretary and Bookkeeper with Business Systems Inc., dedicating herself not only to her work but also to her family and home.

Rose loved to stay busy and was happiest when caring for her home. She carried her well-loved "brown cleaning bucket" everywhere, always keeping things in order. She enjoyed working in her yard, decorating for every season and holiday, and relaxing with crossword puzzles or a good book. Most of all, Rose cherished her role as "Gran-Gran," "Nanner," "Mimi," and so many other special names her grandchildren lovingly gave her-each one a reminder of how deeply she was loved.

Rose's memory will be forever cherished by her husband, John P. Stich, Sr.; her daughter, Ann Collins (Bill); her grandchildren, Alesha Brooke Reynolds (Matt), Jacob William Collins (Sandra), Brandon Lee Standifer, and Emily Grace Collins; and her great-grandchildren, Penelope Rose Murphy, Aubrey Matthew Murphy, Logan William Collins, and Ava Mae Collins. She is also survived by her siblings, Betty Ann Corrigan, Joe Gries, and Jim Gries.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Rose's remarkable life.
