Rose M. Wigmore, age 80, of Essington, passed away peacefully in her home on July 25, 2025.
Rose retired from American Airlines after many dedicated years.
Known for her infectious smile and generous heart, Rose was truly the life of the party. She was famous for hosting unforgettable holiday dinners that brought family and friends together year after year. Christmas was her favorite-her home filled with laughter, warmth, and the joyful chaos of children and grandchildren gathered around the table.
Ocean City was her happy place and second home. She spent many summers there, often staying for three months into the fall. She loved how peaceful it was-the sound of the waves, the gentle ocean breeze, and the rhythm of beachside life brought her deep joy. It was her place of rest and reflection, where she built countless cherished memories with those she loved most.
Travel was a passion that remained close to her heart-especially her memorable adventures through Italy with her significant other, Cyrus. Every experience was a storybook chapter in their shared journey.
Rose will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, and connection-a life lived fully and beautifully.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Charlene Urban; Widowed by the late William H. Wigmore Jr.; Predeceased by her sister Jane Loughead, brothers Ronald E. Urban and Clarence Dale Urban and grandson David James Rumbel.
Survivors: Her significant other; Cyrus Vitello who she shared a spiritual Union with.
