Varnum Funeral HomeWest Brookfield – Roseanne Ullman, 87, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 4, 2025, after a battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Albert and Beatrice LaPlante of Wallingford, CT. She was born in Howland, ME. She and her husband Richard have resided in West Brookfield for 38 years.
She was predeceased by their son, Eric C. Ullman, and have two wonderful grandsons, Christian Ullman of North Kingston, RI, and Nicholas Ullman of Providence, RI. She also leaves her sister Charlene Scranton and her husband Gary, as well as her brother, William LaPlante and many nieces and nephews.
Roseanne was a very successful Registered Nurse for many decades in Connecticut, California, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. She graduated from Yale New Haven Hospital as an LPN and later graduated from Rhode Island Community College with her RN designation. She retired after working more than 20 years at Harrington Memorial Hospital.
Roseanna was an avid tennis and platform tennis player. She was also an active Bridge player both at the West Brookfield Senior Center and at home. Over the years she loved traveling around the country with friends and especially those many trips to the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Europe and the Caribbean.
Calling hours for Roseanne will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4 to 6PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield. An online tribute page is available at varnumfuneralhome.com
