Obituary of Stanley Jay Ullman

Stanley Jay Ullman, 79, of Lone Tree, CO, passed away Thursday October 2nd, 2025, at Sky Ridge Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday October 5th, 2025, at Temple Sinai Synagogue (3509 South Glencoe, Denver, CO 80237), livestream on the Temple Sinai website, followed by burial at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Denver, CO.

Stan was born on October 14th, 1945, in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Bessie (née Barmash) and Charles Ullman.

Stan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Family was of the utmost importance to him, and he spent much of his time later in life connecting with family and bringing them together in ways which instilled his love of family in his future generations.

He had a lifelong love of baseball, following the game closely since childhood. A devoted Colorado Rockies fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer during the season and loved sharing that passion with his family. Some of his happiest days were spent at the ballpark with Paula and their grandchildren, passing on both his knowledge of the game and his enthusiasm for it.

Stan also loved to travel, with Italy holding a special place in his heart. Whether exploring new cities or revisiting favorite spots, he approached travel with curiosity and joy.

Stan was also known for his unique way of telling a story. He often meandered to the point, taking his listeners on unexpected detours along the way. It was part of his charm, and those who loved him will miss his storytelling as much as the stories themselves.

Stan was married to the love of his life, Paula (née Oberndorf) Ullman for 24 years. He was previously married to Marti (née Griger) Grazi with whom he had 2 children, Brad and Dani. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Charles Ullman, his brother Bernard Ullman, and his sister Joyce Hodes.

Stan is survived by his wife, Paula Ullman, his children and their spouses, Brad Ullman and Xiu Cai of Seattle, WA, Dani and Jason Wynn of Englewood, CO, Kevin and Sarah Oberndorf of Englewood, CO, Kelly and Cyrus Mehta of Denver, CO, his sister-in-law Ella Ullman of Overland Park, KS, his brother-in-law Herb Hodes of Silver Spring, MD, and his grandchildren Emma Wynn, Sam Wynn, Reilly Ullman, Catherine Ye, Ava Oberndorf, Luke Oberndorf, Junip Mehta, and Remy Mehta, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Stan will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
