Rosella McCormick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lakeside Funeral Home - Woodstock on Jan. 4, 2026.
Rosella Williams McCormick, age 86, of Woodstock, was welcomed home with Jesus peacefully on December 30, 2025.

Rosella was born in Mount Joy, PA, on January 15, 1939, to parents Levi H. Mumma and Martha N. Williams. Rosella was united in holy matrimony to John (Jack) McCormick, Jr. on March 26, 1960, and then blessed with three children and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on December 10, 2018, and by her brother Levi W. Mumma. Rosella is survived by her brother, Robert N. Mumma; sister, Dolores W. Seibert (Peter); and her children: John M. McCormick III (Penny), Jeffrey S. McCormick (Shauny), and Jennifer M. Mesaros (George). She is also survived by six grandchildren: John (Michael) McCormick, Jessica N. McCormack (Nate), Reilly E. Mesaros, Reagan N. Mesaros, George (Joshua) Mesaros, and Ryan O. Mesaros.

Rosella brought comfort and joy to all who crossed her path due to her amazing love for Jesus and her fervent prayers. She was beautiful inside and out. Strong yet tender, courageous, engaging, and loving beyond measure. She was selfless, giving more than she ever wished to receive, gracious, inspiring, encouraging, insightful, and wise. She was the anchor of her family and was a great model of how every wife and mother should be.

Growing up on a dairy farm in Lebanon, PA, Rosella was taught the importance and value of hard work and determination. At the age of 17, she left home and entered the Lancaster General Hospital Nursing Program, and graduated in 1959 as a registered nurse. She loved her profession of serving others and reluctantly retired at the age of 72.

Along with serving others in her professional work, Rosella found great joy in sharing her time, knowledge, and skills at The Hope Center, a pregnancy crisis center for young women in Woodstock, GA, and the surrounding areas. However, most importantly, what brought Rosella the most joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, her greatest legacy, whom she was incredibly proud of.

Not only will Rosella be forever remembered by her love and devotion to family and friends and for her beautiful and sacrificial life, but also her strong faith in Jesus. She was never ashamed to speak and share her faith when opportunities arose. Her faith in Jesus was beautifully reflected in the loving works of the Holy Spirit.

Though missed earth side, there is great comfort knowing that Rosella is now rejoined and resting from her labors and devotions in the arms of Jesus. He has wiped away every tear; pain and suffering are no more, and she is reunited with her loved ones.

Rosella was the devoted wife of my brother Jack. She was beautiful inside and out. Her faith in God was an inspiration to so many. She, from the time she came into our lives, brought such joy, humor and an example of what true faith is. I loved her for so many things, but most of all for the love and joy she brought to my brother. I rejoice in the belief that she is in heaven with Jack. What joy they must have being together once more.
