Rosemarie Lucy Lenore Colella Cioppa, 93, of New Castle passed away the evening of November 17, 2025 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born in New Castle on December 25, 1931, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Philomena Pagley Colella.
Rosemarie is survived by her beloved husband of seventy-four years, Patsy A. Cioppa. The two were married on June 16, 1951.
Rosemarie was a June 1949 graduate of New Castle High School.
In the early years Rosemarie had worked for Strouss Hirshberg Department Store, then in the cafeteria for New Castle School District and New Castle Christian Academy.
She was a member of Solid Rock Ministry where she taught Sunday School for preschool children. Rosemarie was a homemaker and cared most for her family. Not only did she love and cherish her five children, but she also devoted her life to her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, all who will never forget the great memories shared over the years. There was rarely a Sunday afternoon where the Cioppa household was not full of visitors and a fresh cooked meal greeting you when you walked in the door. Rosemarie loved to read and also loved vacationing every year at the Outer Banks with all the family. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior who carried her through many trials.
In addition to her husband, Rosemarie is survived by her two sons, Lou Cioppa and Patsy Cioppa (Elisa), two daughters, Susan Klein (Tim) and Rosemary DiGiammarino (David), fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Monaco, sister, Virginia Christopher, brother Louis Colella, granddaughter, Gianna Cioppa and son-in-law, Roger Monaco.
Visitation will be on Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Funeral Service will follow on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by her son-in-law and Pastor, Tim Klein. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
