Rosemarie Roos

Rosina "Rosemarie" Roos passed quietly on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at Calvary Hospital. She was 83.
Rosemarie was born on April 27, 1941 to the late Ilario and Immaculata (Monteleone) Candido. She grew up in west New Rochelle with her three siblings - her sister, Antoinette Friscia, who she is survived by, and the late Salvatore and Anthony "Tony" Candido.
She married the love of her life, the late John W. Roos, Sr. on February 1, 1959. A truly glamorous 1950s high school sweethearts couple, the two spent every moment of 60 years together until he passed in 2019. Together they built a beautiful life, raising three children, who they are both survived by - Leslie (Gennaro) Sepe, John (Cecilia) Roos, and Deanna (Steve) Francella, and doting on six grandchildren who were the apples of their eyes - Lauren and Lindsey Sepe, Matthew and Jillian Roos, Sarah and Kevin Francella. Family was everything to Rose; she was immensely proud of the family she grew. There was not a day that went by without a phone call checking in or a surprise visit "just because". Weekends, holidays, and summer vacations were always spent surrounded by family, honoring her favorite lifelong traditions.
When not with her family, Rose was catching up with her friends of 50+ years, holding court while telling stories and laughing with her signature sparkle in her eye. Often described as "my favorite person" and as "a force of nature", there was never a dull moment when she was around. She imprinted on the heart of every person she met.
Rose was kind, loving, and quick-witted, with a knack for doing laundry - she never met a stain she couldn't get out! She loved bread and is no doubt enjoying the freshest baked Heaven has to offer in the arms of her love.
She lived a full life, one overflowing with precious memories that will lovingly live on through her survivors.
