Rosemary J. Verri

Rosemary J. Verri, age 93, a resident of Franciscan Court in West Chicago, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born January 9, 1932, in Chicago, IL to Joseph & Rose Collesano.
Rosemary (affectionately known as Rosie) was the middle child, born and raised on the north side of Chicago. She graduated from Austin High School in 1949 and did not attend college. She was trained in secretarial skills specifically in the legal area. She worked for Sears (Homan Ave) as a legal secretary from 1951 until 1960. She continued her work career around 1973 as a general and legal secretary for several companies until her retirement (including Little Sisters of the Poor where her mentally disabled sister, Josephine, resided until her death in 2010). She was an avid reader of the Bible and numerous science/medical books and journals. She loved to sew and crochet.

She is survived by her son, Mike Verri of Arlington Heights, IL as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Verri; her parents; her sister Josephine Collesano and her brother Albert Collesano.

The visitation will be held at Olive Tree Congregation, 400 N Elmhurst Rd., Prospect Heights, IL 60070, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m.

A private burial was held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
