Mrs. Rosetta Edwards Jones of Iron City, GA passed at her home on Thursday, November 28th, 2024, in Albany, GA.
Rosetta Edwards Jones was born on July 6, 1934, to the Late Edell Lyons. She attended school in Dougherty County, GA.
Mrs. Jones accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. A. W. Woodson at an early age. She served in several ministries including the church choir and Deaconess Board. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star. She worked in serval service industries including the school system's nutrition department, daycare teacher and family assistant.
In 1951, Rosetta married Mr. Lucious Jones, Sr. (1991). To this union, eleven children were born.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by three children; Waymon, Bennie & Kenneth Jones. Also siblings: Thomas J. Lewis, Pearlie Mae Atkins & Jimmie Lyons.
She is survived by her children: Shirley Copeland (Calvin), Lucious Jones, Jr., Patricia Bailey, Alvin Jones (Carla), Melvin Jones, Michael Jones (Davina), Tracy Jones (Michelle), and Louise "Gretta" Jones; her siblings: Earnest J. Atkins, George Lyons, Willie Mae Greene, Eva Bell Lyons, Willinda Lyons; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one god-granddaughter (Kaitlyn williams); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
