On June 20, 2024, Rosetta Milton, a beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away at the age of 88 at her home in Bearden. Rosetta was born on May 22, 1936, in Ouachita County, Arkansas to the union of Cicero Rideout and Lonnie B. Flint Rideout.

She attended Bearden School and first united with White Springs AME Church as a young girl. She married Roosevelt Milton and to this union, four children were born. She was a woman of strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.

Throughout her life, Rosetta worked diligently as a seamstress in the manufacturing industry, where she poured her heart and soul into every stitch. Her dedication and hard work at Sparkman Sewing Room were evidence of her commitment to providing for her family. She also worked Carlton Mill, Bearden School, and Bearden Enterprise.

Rosetta's love extended beyond working. She was the oldest woman in the White Springs Community. She found solace and purpose in serving her community through various roles within her church at Holly Grove Baptist Church, as a church mother, an usher, and a member of both the finance committee and kitchen committee embodying a spirit of compassion and generosity that touched the lives of many. She was well known for her tasteful soul food that brought joy to all who tasted her dishes.

Her life was a testament to the enduring legacy of a woman whose kindness, resilience, and love left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She passed peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cicero and Lonnie B. Rideout; her husband, Roosevelt Milton; two grandchildren, Nikki Chambers and Derrick Parham, and two great-great-grandchildren, Donterrian Scott and Kaleb Dixon; her siblings, Georgia Bell Nelson, Roy Lee Rideout, George Otis Rideout, and Samuel Rideout.

Rosetta leaves her loving legacy with her children, Rethia Gibson of Bearden, Lurethia (Calvin) Dixon of Little Rock, Janice Dawn of Bearden, and Shelia (Patrick) Parham of Bearden; her grandchildren, Byron (Traci) Thrower, Kendrick (Kenyada) Dawn, Tremaine (Tenisha) Dixon, Rodney Dixon, Tamara (Markey) Haynes, Latara Dawn and Sasha Jenkins; thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
