Rosetta Stare Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Feb. 7, 2026.
Salem- Rosetta L. Stare, aged 92, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on August 28, 1933, in West Point, Ohio, Rosetta was the daughter of the late Aleck and Sarah Roberts Whitehead.

A 1951 graduate of Salem Bible Institute, Rosetta dedicated herself to a life of faith and learning. She furthered her education with a Bachelor's Degree in Child Evangelism from Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. A devout member of Salem Bible Methodist Church, she lived her beliefs through service and was a beacon of light within her community.

Rosetta's professional journey was marked by her long-standing involvement with the Telephone Pioneers of America, where she made significant contributions and formed lifelong friendships. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of strength, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.

Her love for travel was legendary, as she fulfilled her dream of visiting all 50 states, each journey etching a memory into the tapestry of her rich life. Rosetta also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as sewing, which she approached with the same meticulous care as she did all her endeavors. She was a master at crosswords and search words, hobbies that reflected her love for words and her sharp intellect.

Rosetta's life was a testament to the love she had for her family. She is survived by her siblings, Philip (Pauline) Whitehead of Homeworth, Eileen Barnby of Salem, Joyce Reynolds of Salem, and a host of nieces and nephews who will continue to carry her legacy forward. They all held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Her husband, Robert Stare, whom she married on August 25, 2001, predeceased her on January 25, 2012. Rosetta was also preceded in death by her siblings Donald Whitehead, Arthur Whitehead, and Virginia Cope.

A funeral service honoring Rosetta's remarkable life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

The family would like to thank all her carecare givers over the last six years and Auburn.
