Rosie Sarah (Butler) Everett was born on August 12, 1938 in Gladewater, Texas to Fred Butler Sr., and Effie Mae Butler.
She attended school and graduated from Gladewater High School in 1956. She met and married George Browder Everett on June 15, 1957. They lived in Houston, Texas until George graduated from the University of Houston Pharmacy School. They moved to Sherman, Texas in January of 1961 and lived there for 63 years.
Rosie was a housewife for many years and then went to work for M & P Bank in Sherman. She then worked for TXU Electric for 17 years before retiring.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sherman since 1961. She was also a member and past president of the Sherman Service League. She loved to play bridge, travel and spend time with her family.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George and five siblings. She is survived by daughters Angela Bennett and husband Richard and Sandy Garbacik and husband Kevin, grandchildren Aaron Bennett and wife Rachel, Adam Bennett, and Sarah Garbacik, great grandchildren, Wyatt, Naomi, Chandler and Declan Bennett. Her surviving siblings are Willie Mae Hibbison, Mary Commins, Paul Butler, Jack Butler, and Johnny Butler.
Rosie has now joined her husband George in their eternal home. A joint memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Waldo Funeral Home Sherman, Texas.
Memorial gifts should be made to Heart to Heart Hospice 600 E. Taylor St. #3005 Sherman, Texas 75090 or First Baptist Church of Sherman, 400 S. Travis Street, Sherman, Texas 75090. The family would like to thank The Woodlands Nursing Staff for the wonderful care that they provided for Rosie.
